Invited by the clients to participate in a limited competition to design a lavish new home in one of LA’s most prestigious neighborhoods, each architect was given the same design brief- an H-shaped house to maximize the amount of light entering the home, sunlight was to be used in interesting ways, the design of the home was to be clean, crisp and contemporary.
I designed the competition entry to represent Harrison Design Associates. Listening closely to the needs of the customer as articulated during a pre-entry submission meeting, along with the requirements listed in the design brief, I designed the home as represented in the model below. The clients were so delighted by the model and floorplans that we won the completion! The clients were so pleased that the home as built almost unchanged from the competition entry. |
